Mr. Tomi Lounio, Programme Analyst Human Rights, UNDP Regional Service Centre for Africa, emphasized the need for Governments and development partners to understand documentary evidence in unearthing issues of concern.
This had, for instance, influenced the UNDP in becoming more disability sensitive and is apparently committed to promoting the rights of persons with disabilities.
UNDP offices and websites were apparently more disability-sensitive than before.
One concern though was that while there was every effort to promote the well-being of persons with disabilities, the education of persons with disabilities was not being prioritized by most stakeholders including governments.
This in most cases was observed to have undermined initiatives to promote inclusive development.
